Sora is the alias of Takeshi Kurosawa and resides in the city of great tradition Kyoto, Japan. His alias Sora means "sky" in Japanese and also the musical keys "G" (so) &"A" (ra) in Japanese. He grew up playing the piano and began to create music by digital samplers from early 90's. He was influenced by the "intelligent techno" scene lead by the Warp label and he's talent revealed soon by participating in the General Production's label (UK) compilation under his real name. His first album "Re.sort" from Plop label was a huge hit across the country and lead him to participate in soundtracks for Fashion brands such as Issey Miyake's "Tenalys" and Tommorowland's "Edition". He has also collaborated with Wechsel Garland for the Karaoke Kalk compilation and provided tracks for many labels such as Flyrec, Ryoondo Tea, Autres Directions in Music etc.
His sound making is unique taking samples from old Bossa-Nova, Jazz records into his laptop and cuts them into pieces and blend them with his heartwarming melodies to create something totally new. The process is so precise that you will be surprised to hear that every measures & loops are always slightly different. And most of all, the overall impression of the tracks are always peaceful and full of tender & pleasant atmosphere.
